Kalinga Krishna
Hare Om!! Young Krishna triumphs over the evil 5 five-headed cobra Kalinga. Young Krishna was beseeched by local villagers along the Yamuna River to banish the evil Kalinga from their lives and lifeblood the sacred Yamuna River. The evil Kalinga had made the river poison for humans to consume and was wreaking havoc on their pastoral life which depended on the purity of the sacred Yamuna’s waters. Taking pity on his disciples Krishna leaped into action. After a fierce battle, Krishna prevailed and was about to cut off Kalinga’s 5 heads when he was petitioned for mercy by Kalinga’s wives who took the shape of the Nag Kama. Krishna agreed to spare Kalinga’s life on the condition that he retreat to the deepest ocean and never trouble the earth’s human population again. Kalinga agreed and retreated to the deepest ocean where he remains to this day. This one of a kind Chola Lost Wax Process Bronze displays the young Krishna at a unique time in his life. It is said this is when he was crowned by the villagers for his bravery and henceforth is displayed with a full crown as opposed to his long hair tied askew on top of his head as he is depicted in his adolescent years.

- International customers, please be advised Statues (over 6 inches tall) shipped Internationally require review and approval of the State Archaeologist which can only be scheduled once a month. Even with a 2-week Federal Express shipping time to the furthest destination, this state requirement can add 6-8 weeks to the delivery process.
- As mentioned above all statues are shipped via Federal Express outside of India and TNT for domestic orders. The cost of shipping is dependent on destination and the weight of the statues and will be calculated at the time of purchase but we can offer our educated estimate if you contact us ahead of purchase.
- Lost Wax Chola Bronze is composed of Copper, Iron, and Tin. In current times the we use scrap bronze typically referred to as gunmetal with additional copper added to make copper the majority element. The term Panchaloha Bronze refers to a 5 metal bronze with the addition of Gold and silver. The gold and silver is strictly for religious purposes and do not affect the structural integrity or visual finish of the bronze. For custom orders of home Pooja or Temple Statues, we can discuss the addition of predetermined quantities of gold and silver in your diety, the cost of which will be added into the total cost quoted.
- Custom orders can be arranged but as stated previously we will only produce statues in their historically documented poses and aspects.

Shiva's guardian is Nandi , whose statue can often be seen watching over the main shrine. The bull is said to embody sexual energy and fertility. Riding on Nandi's back, Shiva is in control of these impulses. The statue is ripe with little details that set Metal Craft lost wax statues apart from other statues. Nandi would be perfect company for a Shiva sculpture. It has a light antique bronze finish.
