- Lost Wax Chola Bronze is composed of Copper, Iron, and Tin. In current times the we use scrap bronze typically referred to as gunmetal with additional copper added to make copper the majority element. The term Panchaloha Bronze refers to a 5 metal bronze with the addition of Gold and silver. The gold and silver is strictly for religious purposes and do not affect the structural integrity or visual finish of the bronze. For custom orders of home Pooja or Temple Statues, we can discuss the addition of predetermined quantities of gold and silver in your diety, the cost of which will be added into the total cost quoted.

This Metal Craft Chola Bronze Lingham crafted by the Lost Wax Process is a masterpiece meant to be the center piece of your home altar. Linga Purana, the lingam is a complete symbolic representation of the formless Universe Bearer – the oval-shaped stone is the symbol of the Universe, and the bottom base represents the Supreme Power that holds the entire Universe in it. The lingam (the Sanskrit word for 'symbol') is the most definitive image of the Lord Shiva. The lingham is worshipped as Shiva Himself. It is a sign of His transcendental self and his capacity for the creation of life. An aniconic image, it is an abstract expression of the dharmic reverence for life and how it comes about. Shaivites perceive it as a fiery column of light or the axis mundi, which is the bridge between ihloka (current realm of existence) and parlok (the subsequent one). This Metal Craft Bronze lingam is a fine example of this powerful Shaivite symbol. The distinctive stature of this sculpture would add to your space an aura of the otherworldly. The lingams in many Shiva temples around the subcontinent are said to be self-existent (to have emerged naturally out of the ground). Filled with divine power, Shiva-lingam Moorti’s are seen to emerge from a womb chamber where prayers for fecundity are offered by devotees. The same, together with the yoni extension (along the horizontal section), serve as a drain to carry away the libation poured over the lingam. In fact, the Shiva-lingam ensemble expresses the singular togetherness of Shiva with His Parvati. -

Gajasamhara Moorty

Height- 20 inches Width- 14 inches Depth- 9 inches Weight- 14.2 kg Materials- Chola Lost Wax Process BronzeGajasamhara Moorthy
Another excellent bronze sculpture by Metal Craft of Shiva as Gajasamhara murti. Not many would be aware of this unusual and fearsome form of Gajasura Samhara of Lord Shiva. The story of how Shiva came to be known as Krittivaseshwara or Gajasura Samhara comes in the Kurma Purana.. Once an asura (demon) attacked some pious Brahmins who were worshiping Shiva in Varanasi. Siva instantly emerged from the Linga they were worshipping and slew Gajasura. He then flayed his skin and wore it like a cloth. This was a ferocious form of Shiva that scared even his consort Parvati. Notice that the sculpture is framed in an outline resembling an elephant skin. It has an elephant tail on top and two elephant feet dangling around. Shiva is seen eight-armed. He is tearing the elephant apart with his two hands, with his right foot placed on Gajasura ’s elephant head and his left leg folded in a dance-step. Starting on the right side, he holds a cobra, then grasps the elephant skin followed by a shield and Kapaala (bowl fashioned out of human skull). On the left side lower hand he holds his Trishul, sword and a Drammuru drum and the upper hand holds the elephant skin. He wears his hair like a halo and bears a skull with Dhatura flower, crescent moon, and cobra. A beautiful garland of small bells runs around Shiva ’s body. Gajasamhara Shiva is flanked on either side by ganas (retinue of Shiva) that are playing cymbals to the rhythm of Shiva ’s dance. The rectangular base has a historically accurate attachment system which is for display purposes to replicate the original. A true masterpiece, this sculpture is one of its kind. -

Height :20 inches width :8.5 inches Depth :6 inches weight :6.5 kilo Kalinga Krishna Hare Om!! Young Krishna triumphs over the evil 5 five-headed cobra Kalinga. Young Krishna was beseeched by local villagers along the Yamuna River to banish the evil Kalinga from their lives and lifeblood the sacred Yamuna River. The evil Kalinga had made the river poison for humans to consume and was wreaking havoc on their pastoral life which depended on the purity of the sacred Yamuna’s waters. Taking pity on his disciples Krishna leaped into action. After a fierce battle, Krishna prevailed and was about to cut off Kalinga’s 5 heads when he was petitioned for mercy by Kalinga’s wives who took the shape of the Nag Kama. Krishna agreed to spare Kalinga’s life on the condition that he retreat to the deepest ocean and never trouble the earth’s human population again. Kalinga agreed and retreated to the deepest ocean where he remains to this day. This one of a kind Chola Lost Wax Process Bronze displays the young Krishna at a unique time in his life. It is said this is when he was crowned by the villagers for his bravery and henceforth is displayed with a full crown as opposed to his long hair tied askew on top of his head as he is depicted in his adolescent years. -
