Masterpiece Quality Height 20.5 inches Width 16 inches Depth 6.5 inches Weight 11.5 kg Materials- Chola Lost Wax Process BronzeThis graceful form of Shiva is infused with such artistic grace that it has come to represent all in Indian art, dance, and music. It possesses fluidity and flow of dance, purity of music and beauty of art. In this remarkably standardized form, the god is shown dancing within a flaming halo (prabha mandala) which represents time and which is shown as a circle to symbolize the Hindu belief that it is both cyclical and without end. This statue is 16 inches from base to top of the tallest flame and weighs 10 kg. It is a classic example of the Chola Lost Wax Bronze casting process. The hundreds of hours of human energy in the form of wax molding, casting, rough/fine filing, and the final detail chiseling shine through in the completely unique face of this Siva Nataraja, truly one of a kind. Nataraja’s right foot stands on Apasmara (ignorance personified). - armed with dagger and a detailed tiny shield. Shiva’s left foot is raised in dance movement. A simple belt tied around his torso is shown flowing to his left and an erect Cobra sits on his right arm. He holds Damaru (hourglass drum) in his upper right hand and Agnishikha (flame) in left. His lower right hand is gestured in Abhaya Mudra (assurance or granting fearlessness) and left hand dangles down, relaxed gracefully in Gajahasta Mudra. He wears his hair as a crown, studded with stork feathers. His free-flowing hairs bear Ganga depicted as a mermaid on the right side and a snake on the left. The male and female earrings in his ears respectively symbolize Shiva’s completeness. The sculpture rests on a double pedestal of lotus and square. The elegance of this one of a kind Lost Wax process bronze Nataraja will grace your studio, pooja room or any place of reverence you provide.

Rishabhavahana Devar
Original price was: ₹250,000.00.₹245,000.00Current price is: ₹245,000.00.Availability: in stock
This set, depicting Siva as a peasant and Parvati as the Devi is a detailed copy of the pieces on display in the Thanjavur Art Gallery. The originals are considered superb representations of Siva from the early Cholas in the year 1011 CE. This set is another one of Metal Crafts masterpieces that can bring Chola History and understated elegance into your home without supporting the illegal antique trade. The word Devar refers to the fact that Siva is represented in human form with just two arms. This depiction is the only Chola statue in which Siva is shown in human form. It is also unique in the display of the hair shaped into the form of a turban that is most obvious in the front view. As stated above the two arms indicate that this form of Siva is the human guise of a peasant. The right hand is positioned to rest on the head of his sacred bull (Rishabha/Nandi), which was not found with the originals, while the left hand is in katyavalampita-hasta. With unrivaled grace and dignity Siva, as a peasant stands firm on his left leg, the right leg crossed with toes resting on the ground. The Devi, Parvati, is in every way a fit companion for the aesthetic excellence of Siva. She stands in tribhanga leaning towards Siva with her right hand in kataka and the left hand hanging like a cows tail, govala. Her legs mimic the posture of Siva with a lesser bend of the knee on the right leg. This posture is what differentiates this Parvati form from other standing depictions such as Sivakami. Certainly, any Chola bronze admirer can see the uniqueness of this pair from any other depiction of the heavenly couple and would want them to grace their home.

Height- 24 inches Width- 15 inches Depth- 7 inches Weight- 11 kg Materials- Chola Lost Wax Process BronzeSiva Thalai Keel Tandav
In this Metal Craft bronze one of the aspects of the Siva Tandava dance sequence is shown in a rarely depicted pose. Thalai Keel Tandav is a transitional dance pose of Nataraj where Shiva’s aspect as a cosmic dancer, is represented in an upside-down position. In Tamil, Thalai means head and Keel means inverted. The 108 katanas - or the key positions - of Tandava, have inspired the well known composite image found at the Nataraja temple of Chidambaram. In this posture both of Sivas legs are in the upright position with toes pointing to the heavens. This gorgeous bronze statue is a typical four-armed depiction of Shiva. The upper right-hand holds a flame similar to the ones on the arch. Fire signifies forces of creation and destruction. The lower right hand is holding Siva erect and crushes the dwarf demon Apasmara the representation of the ego. The left lower hand is in Abhaya mudra. The upper left hand holds the ever-present Damura drum in a gesture called damaru-hasta symbolizing rhythm and movement in time. The ring of flames (prabhamandala) which surrounds the figure is a symbol of the endless cycle of birth and death. It’s a heavy handmade sculpture, weighing over 10 kgs.. Metal Craft Artisans follow an ancient tradition of bronze sculpting by a unique method called Madhuchista Vidhana, or the Lost-wax method. The sculpture has been crafted with great precision to achieve the fine details. -
