Shiva's guardian is Nandi , whose statue can often be seen watching over the main shrine. The bull is said to embody sexual energy and fertility. Riding on Nandi's back, Shiva is in control of these impulses. The statue is ripe with little details that set Metal Craft lost wax statues apart from other statues. Nandi would be perfect company for a Shiva sculpture. It has a light antique bronze finish.

Dhana Lakshmi
Lakshmi is the Goddess of wealth and consort of Vishnu, the supreme person. Lakshmi has eight aspects, Dhana Lakshmi being one of them. This fantastic bronze statue is of Dhana Lakshmi – one who bestows financial wealth. Lakshmi is closely associated with Padma (lotus), which is a symbol of purity, beauty, and detachment. She is supposed to even reside in a lotus flower. In this bronze artwork, Lakshmi is seen sitting on a lotus pedestal. The rich jewelry Dhana Lakshmi is bedecked in is depicted with intricate carving in the statue. Goddess Lakshmi is seen four-armed. She holds lotus flowers in her two upper hands and her lower right and left hands are in Abhaya Mudra (assurance or granting fearlessness) and Varada Mudra (boon granting) respectively. This exquisite bronze will surely add a wealth of beauty to your home, studio or office. Its size at 18 inches tall and stunning details will surely capture your eye every time you enter the room.
Rishabhavahana Devar
Availability: in stock
This set, depicting Siva as a peasant and Parvati as the Devi is a detailed copy of the pieces on display in the Thanjavur Art Gallery. The originals are considered superb representations of Siva from the early Cholas in the year 1011 CE. This set is another one of Metal Crafts masterpieces that can bring Chola History and understated elegance into your home without supporting the illegal antique trade. The word Devar refers to the fact that Siva is represented in human form with just two arms. This depiction is the only Chola statue in which Siva is shown in human form. It is also unique in the display of the hair shaped into the form of a turban that is most obvious in the front view. As stated above the two arms indicate that this form of Siva is the human guise of a peasant. The right hand is positioned to rest on the head of his sacred bull (Rishabha/Nandi), which was not found with the originals, while the left hand is in katyavalampita-hasta. With unrivaled grace and dignity Siva, as a peasant stands firm on his left leg, the right leg crossed with toes resting on the ground. The Devi, Parvati, is in every way a fit companion for the aesthetic excellence of Siva. She stands in tribhanga leaning towards Siva with her right hand in kataka and the left hand hanging like a cows tail, govala. Her legs mimic the posture of Siva with a lesser bend of the knee on the right leg. This posture is what differentiates this Parvati form from other standing depictions such as Sivakami. Certainly, any Chola bronze admirer can see the uniqueness of this pair from any other depiction of the heavenly couple and would want them to grace their home.

Vinadhara Siva
This particular form Siva is known as Vinadhara or “Veena Player”, the Lord of Music. A title he borrows from Saraswati. The pose is called is called “Veena Player” because Shiva’s two front hands are in the position they would be if he was playing a veena. The veena is missing as it is in all Vinadhara sculptures. In Shiva’s other two hands he holds an axe as well as a deer. The deer shows how all animals see Shiva as their lord and revere him. The god is standing in elegant Tribhanga pose on a round lotus base in a frontal pose with all his well-built limbs correctly proportioned. The sculptures elegance is displayed in the play of curves and angles that harmonize into a serene stature one can gaze at with reverence. The simple loin cloth is suggestive of a piece of elephant hide. With the minimalist loin cloth, ornamented belts and elaborate crown the sculpture manages to appear lavishly dressed. The feet have each a course of 3 loose padasaras. The toes have rings on the big and little toes, there is a footrest under the right foot not to be mistaken for a sandal. The left leg in in Kunchita(slightly bent) and is held in position by a squatting singing ghana. The ghanas left hand receives the toe of assurance of the god while his right hand is in singing gesticulation in gratitude of such assurance. Siva is considered to be the creator and Master of Yoga, Music and Dancing. He is very popular in the south by the name Dakshinamurti. This statue is sometimes referred to as the Lord of Music form of Siva as Dakshinamurti. Not to be confused with the seated Dakshinamurti who is shown under a banyan tree enlightening attending rishis with one foot on mythical Apasmara crushing the ego of man.Boga Shakti-Parvati
